ALONG WITH EVERY DROWNED REFUGEE, THE EUROPEAN VALUES PERISH AS WELL.
Under the Treaty on European Union, every EU Member State has committed itself to uphold the European values, and therefore, human rights as well.
„The Union is founded on the values of respect for human dignity, freedom, democracy, equality, the rule of law and respect for human rights, including the rights of persons belonging to minorities. These values are common to the Member States in a society in which pluralism, non-discrimination, tolerance, justice, solidarity and equality between women and men prevail.“
IT IS ABOUT TIME EUROPEAN GOVERNMENTS BE REMINDED OF THEIR OBLIGATION.
We cannot overlook the thousands of deaths in the Mediterranean Sea. The EU Member States are ignoring their duty to rescue at sea. They refuse to carry out their governmental duty in the Mediterranean. Together, we want to remind the EU to respect human rights and stop blocking civilian maritime rescue efforts!
THE ARTISTS
The performance artists from Denmark “Between Music” create unique musical experiences. The five musicians play their compositions underwater on custom-made instruments. These include a Crystallophone (Laila Skovmand), a Rotacorda (Nanna Bech), Percussion (Morton Poulsen), Singing Bowls (Moran le Bars) and a Carbon violin (Robert Karlsson). “Drowned Requiem” drove them to play for the first time at the bottom of the Mediterranean Sea. The place where so many people lost their lives.
